Assigning Visitor tags
There are two ways to assign Visitor tags to a Visitor account:
- Using Query Builder
- Find your Visitors using any suitable filter(s) in the Query builder.
- Save the Query and assign (or remove) website Visitor tags to the query result list in the Use query section.

- Assign Visitor tags in bulk to a new group of visitors by uploading a CSV file in the Assign visitor tags module.
About the Assign visitor tags module
If you have an exported a list of Visitors in a third party system or are using the Visitor registrations module, you can import this as a CSV file to assign a website visitor tag.
Top Tip!
If you are using a new Visitor tag, create that first in the Visitor tag module.
- Go to Marketing > Assign visitor tags

- Select the Visitor tag you want to assign
- Choose the CSV file
Take note!
The CSV file should should have at least one column named “email”
- Select your separator setting (for CSV lists exported from the Visitor registrations module this should be “comma”)
- Click Upload and assign
Top Tip!
Confirm the new Visitor tag is assigned to the visitors by checking a visitor account, or filter the Visitor tag in the Query builder.
Top Tip!
If you accidentally assigned the wrong Visitor tag, you can use the Query builder to find all visitors with this visitor tag and remove the visitor tag.
