Accessibility Updates

Ever since Accessibility Desk / Digitaal Toegankelijk performed a complete technical audit of the Peppered platform, we have steadily been working on all parts of the platform to make it Accessible for every Visitor. With this release your website is more accessible than ever before! We can tick off the following improvements on our Accessibility to do list:

  • A new, accessible newsletter sign-up modal that’s easy to navigate using your keyboard
  • Improved focus indicators in two colours to ensure clarity on any background
  • Clear, field-specific guidance when completing forms (such as contact, login, or account) — so you know exactly what’s needed at every step
Form error message now tells the Visitor what field needs reviewing

  • You can now start the showcase video whenever it suits you, thanks to a new play/pause button, giving you more control over your viewing experience.
  • We've added a zoom button to every photo in galleries, making it easier to open images in full screen, especially helpful for keyboard users and a smoother experience on mobile too.
  • Your cookie banner now has clearer default button labels that include the word “cookies”, making it more screen reader-friendly.

CMS file browser now shows uploaded date and file size

Like many of our users, De Warande is cleaning up old files in their file browser, but struggled to find an efficient way to do it. They requested the addition of an upload date for each file, we thought this was a great idea! Now they can easily see when an image was uploaded and delete any old files they no longer need, keeping the file browser neat and clear.

Vriendenloterij Integration Pilot Phase completed!

Great news for all our Dutch venues with integrated ticketing: the Vriendenloterij VIP card member discount has completed the Pilot phase and will be available soon for all Ticketing systems. During the pilot we launched the VIP card validation feature that triggers the discount and worked with Itix and Ticketmatic for administration of VIP card numbers and validation. The Ovatic integration is in the planning stage and will be released soon.

In this release, we’ve improved error handling for the Itix setup to ensure a smoother experience for VIP Card holders. The system now checks across multiple orders to make sure each visitor can purchase a maximum of two discounted tickets per event. If that limit is reached, a clear message will let them know. Vriendenloterij has generously sponsored all developments.

New Status Text for Courses

For the Honolulu Museum of Art and other users of our Courses feature, a new label is available for Courses that are not yet open for enrollment. An inactive label will show, with a text you can edit yourself.

Added Genres & Keywords support to Tessitura event updater

For Leeds Museums & Galleries and Leeds Film, both using the same Tessitura environment, we added the option to filter events by Keyword in the Event updater. This ensures Productions are only imported to the correct website, saving valuable time for the Leeds Team.

Updated Layout for Stories filter

To ensure consistency in your website navigation, the new Stories filter default layout will feature buttons to select Story types, similar to our event genre filter (as seen here at De Doelen). This layout is optimised for mobile, and will replace the previous “menu bar with arrow” for all new websites.

If you are using the old layout, you can easily switch to the new layout by creating in a support ticket. We will check if all colours are properly set for use in the new filter.

You can continue using the old filter layout if you prefer, we’ll keep supporting it for now. However, please note that we won’t be adding any new features to it. The layout will eventually be phased out, and we will make sure to communicate this to you in advance.

Additional Fixes & Improvements

  • Keyboard shortcuts: You can now quickly save your work in the new CMS modules using CMD+S (Mac) or CTRL+S (PC), making editing faster and easier.
  • Mailings: We've improved how mailing templates are stored in HTML, so visitors who click “view this mail in browser” from their inbox will always see your newsletter as intended — no matter how they choose to view it.
  • Single Sign-On: For SSO users, every login or website return now correctly records the visitor’s last activity. This ensures more accurate data in your Query Builder.
  • Events Feed: Movie posters are now available in our outgoing events feed, thank you Chassé for sponsoring this.
