How to implement Vriendenloterij VIP card validation

Vriendenloterij VIP card memberships can offer discounts on ticket prices. This article explains how to set up the validation steps to enable this feature in your CultureSuite CMS integrated purchase path.

Application

General Functionality

• Validation of the Vriendenloterij VIP card happens in the personal account, before a Visitor enters the purchase path. The validation checks general card validity and the allowed limit of number of tickets that are allowed to be bought.

• Vriendenloterij price types can be scheduled to be visible from 4 months before an event.

• A temporary privilege will become active during the web session. After the order this privilege is removed.

• This privilege enables a new conditional price type, linked to any event that offers Vriendenloterij discounts.

• Orders are limited to one Vriendenloterij VIP card, and a max of 1 or 2 tickets for the discount price type per Event you can set yourself.

• The VIP card number is send to the ticketing system during the online order (Ticketmatic, Ovatic, Itix) for administrative purposes.

How to set up Vriendenloterij in your CultureSuite CMS

Step 1: Create Price Type in Ticketing System and CMS

1. Create a new Price Type called “Vriendenloterij” in your ticketing system and add this Price Type to any Event eligible for the Vriendenloterij discount

2. When using an “available from” date for price availability, you can set these dates per event in your ticketing system (Tixly, Ticketmatic, Ovatic, Itix). Vriendenloterij requires prices to be available 4 months before the event starts.

3. Switch on the option “Import from/until dates per price type” in your control panel:

For Itix, this setting is not needed. Itix will make the price type available when the date becomes active, and it will then be imported automatically.

4. Price availability dates will be imported per event and stored in the event price table:

5. Alternatively, in your Price types module in the Dashboard, you can set the availability date per event manually after importing the price type.

6. Select Import to import the new Price Type. It will be set to ‘conditional’ by default so make sure you set it to “visible” in the price type module after verifying all availability dates are set correctly per event..
1. Open the Price Type and set the Max to 1 or 2, depending on what Vriendenloterij requires.

7. Optional: You can check the box Automatically select this price (for bundles). This will make sure that in the seatmap, this Price type is automatically selected.

8. Select Save.



 

Step 2: Create Visitor Tag

Go to Marketing > Visitor tags and create a new Visitor tag. This will temporarily be assigned to all Visitors that completed the Vriendenloterij VIP card validation.

1. Name the Visitor tag “Vriendenloterij”

2. The Source should be “website”

 

Step 3: Set up Privileges

1. Go to Marketing > Privileges and create a new Privilege. This Privilege will make sure every Visitor with the Visitor tag “Vriendenloterij” will be able to see the “Vriendenloterij” Price type during the order process.

Step 4: Create a page where the Vriendenloterij validation form will be available

1. Go to Stories > Pages and create a new Page.

2. Build the Page like any other:
1. Add a Title in the Hero part
2. Add the Validate membership part.
3. Optional: Hide the Page from search results using the Advanced Visibility setting and set Allow Indexing to No.

Take note! If you can not find the Validate membership Page part, please create a ticket in our service portal.
 

3. Open the Validate membership part and select the Visitor tag “Vriendenloterij” from the drop-down. This will make sure the correct Visitor tag will become active for the Visitor after a succesful validation.

4. Save the Page part.



 

Step 5: Add Vriendenloterij validation Page to My Account Menu

In order for the set-up to work, a Visitor needs to be logged in before starting the purchase. The most effective way to do this, is to add the page with the validation form to the personal “My account” menu. This works by adding a new menu item in the “visitor” menu section in your “menu” module in the dashboard and link that to the page with the validation form.

This will make sure the page is accessible in the “My account” pop-up and start page:

 

1. Check if the “vriendenloterij” API entry is already created for you in your “API connections” CMS module. If it’s there, you are all set.



If it’s not there, just send us a support ticket so we can add the API connection for you.

2. Test! The page should display the form and validate the VIP card. After successfull validation, the visitor tag should be visible in the “Special access” menu on the next page refresh. The Vriendenloterij price type should also be visible during the order process.
