🎉 What's new in Release 231?

This release completes the new search engine, brings a wave of quality-of-life improvements to the CMS, and gives you more control over e-tickets and visitor privacy. Tessitura venues also get a significant SSO upgrade.

🔍 Visitors find what they're looking for - even with typos, accents, and past events

What changed?

  • Past events are now fully searchable via the new search engine.
  • Search results separate future and past events into clearly labelled groups, so visitors know exactly what they're looking at.
  • The search engine has also been improved to better handle misspelled words, special characters, and accented names, so visitors are more likely to find what they're looking for even if their spelling is slightly off.
  • As covered in previous releases, the new search engine is significantly faster, and helps protect website performance during peak onsales.

How do I use it?

  • No action needed. The new search replaces the classic search automatically.
  • If you previously switched off the new search because it didn't include past events, we will re-enable it for you.

🎬 Send visitors to a filtered set of shows from your Coming Soon section

What changed?

  • The "View all shows" button now supports a filtered destination link, rather than always pointing to the full What's On page – useful for highlighting a specific season, genre, or venue within a Coming Soon part.

How do I use it?

  • Go to System > Routes & Parts and find the Coming Soon part
  • Add a new parameter query, then enter the filtered portion of the URL from a filtered What's On page

⚡ More ways to work faster in the new CMS

What changed?

  • Duplicate any production directly from the new CMS.

  • Save your work with Ctrl+S (or Cmd+S on Mac) across a range of modules – no need to reach for the save button
  • Media galleries now support more file types, including PDFs for production reviews and SVG files for hall backgrounds in seat selection.
  • All pages and stories are now available when adding suggested stories, with a clear indicator of whether each page is currently visible.
  • Two more modules have been migrated to the new CMS layout:
    • Inactive e-mail addresses: this module checks your database for unused e-mail addresses that have no account or opt-ins, and can be removed.
    • Visitor tags

How do I use it?

  • Production duplication: open any production in the new CMS and click "Duplicate" from the top menu
    • Take note! Events attached to the production are not duplicated
  • All other improvements are available immediately. No action needed.

🎟️ Hide barcodes on e-tickets for membership and privilege-based price types

What changed?

  • A new "Hide barcode" option is available on individual price types in the price types module
  • When enabled, the barcode is removed from the e-ticket and replaced with a custom message, for example, directing the visitor to present their membership card at the box office
  • Applies to integrated e-tickets

How do I use it?

  • Open the relevant price type in the Price types module
  • Tick Hide barcode and add the message you'd like visitors to see in place of the barcode

  • All personal data and order logs are removed. An anonymous box office ID and associated anonymous orders are retained for analytics purposes

How do I use it?

  • No action needed. The sales and CRM import process handles this automatically

What changed?

  • Login sessions can now be extended, so visitors are not signed out unnecessarily

⚙️ Additional fixes & Improvements

Analytics

  • DataLayer now includes event hall and location data. Thank you to Donut Analytics on behalf of Dr Phillip’s Centre for suggesting this improvement.

Mailing

  • Fixed last name prefixes not appearing correctly in mailing salutations.
  • Fixed titles in mailing lists that were not clickable in the CMS.

Orders & payments

  • Improved handling of multiple voucher payments on a single order.

CMS

  • Searching for products by ID in the CMS is working again, as is drag-and-drop ordering of products. Searching by product name is not yet available due to an underlying logic change – this will be resolved when the product module is migrated to the new CMS.
  • Performance improvement for themes displayed on a page

Integrations
