New Accessibility feature: skiplink
A skiplink (or "skip link") is an accessibility feature that allows users, especially those using screen readers or keyboard navigation to skip repetitive content and jump directly to the main part of a web page, like the main content or navigation.
Why are skiplinks useful?
On many websites, especially ones with complex layouts, users often have to tab through a bunch of links (like navigation menus) before reaching the main content. Skiplinks help by giving them a shortcut.
New Query Builder filter for Sent mailings
We've made it easier to send follow-up emails to the right people. The new filter targets sent newsletter data. It can be configured to return all visitors the mailing was sent to, all bounces, or all visitors that responded (clicked through).
We purposefully haven’t added the “Opened” statistic. This becomes more and more unreliable, as a lot of mail-browsers are actively blocking the loading of trackers that record when a mail is opened.
This means your emails will go to people who are actually interested in them, helping you sell more tickets and build better relationships with your customers. Naturally this new filter can be combined with all other filters.
Our new filter for sent mailings helps you:
- Send another email to the same group of people
- Contact only the people who clicked on links in your previous email
- Mix and match different groups of people
- Ensuring your emails truly reach the mailbox of your audience
Mailings & Bounces
We have made some behind-the-scenes improvements to help your emails get to your customers:
- If a visitor stopped receiving your Mailings because of a full mailbox, or any other reason but then visits your website with that same account, we will reset their Bounce counter back to 0 and they will start receiving emails again.
- You'll now get a clear warning if there's a problem with your DMARC, SPF or DKIM settings that might send your emails to spam folders. Mails are blocked until the issue is resolved.
These changes help make sure your important announcements and offers actually reach your customers.
Bulk change status of multiple events in one batch
Managing lots of events just got much easier. Now you can change the status of multiple Productions or Events all at once instead of one at a time
- In the Status module, open the status you want to set (like On sale or Sold out).
- Select one or more Productions or Events from the drop-down you want to update to this status.
- Click Submit. All selected events (or all events from selected Productions) will receive the status.
This means you can open ticket sales for your whole season in seconds, or quickly close sales for multiple events if needed. Less clicking, more time for other important tasks!
GA4 ecommerce items added to the Datalayer
If you use Google Analytics to track your website, we have added more information about ticket sales available in the Datalayer
- Tickets_price - the average unit price per ticket per event in this order, excluding extra’s.
- Tickets_quantity
- Ga4_ecommerce_items This is a simplified list of events, extra’s (Cross-sells) and products, that directly matches GA4 ecommerce specification. Each item has these values:
- Item_category
- Item_id
- Item_name
- Price - average unit price per ticket per event in this order
- Quantity
This means you'll have a clearer picture of what's selling well and what isn't, helping you make better decisions about pricing and marketing. More information in our Datalayer article.
New Dashboard updates
We have updated several parts of your Dashboard to make everyday tasks simpler:
- New Languages module: Offers a quick overview of all available website languages, including if they are active. We improved the UX to make sure it works intuitively.
- Orders module received some maintenance to make looking for an order faster
- Deleting Cross-sells is once again possible in the Dashboard. It will show a warning when cross-sell tickets have already been sold. Deleting a cross-sell will also remove it from the “My tickets” area in the Visitor account.
- Fix for saving Content Library items when a form is used
- Queueing: Improve readability of bot details
- A new "Leave Feedback" button so you can easily tell us your ideas
Secure Tickets and Dynamic barcodes with Itix
In our ongoing development around secure e-tickets we extended our dynamic barcode feature to Itix. These barcodes will be refreshed every 20 seconds, rendering older barcodes invalid.
This makes it much harder for people to share or resell tickets outside your official channels. When someone tries to screenshot a ticket and share it, the barcode will be outdated and won't work. This helps ensure tickets stay with the original buyers and protects your event revenue.
Additional Fixes & Improvements
- Your dedicated genre pages (like /program/Pop or /program/Jazz) now use the genre as a page title, which helps with Google searches. Use the “slug” fields in the genres & tags module to activate these friendly urls.
- Mailings: Fixed weird characters showing up in Microsoft Outlook emails. Good old Outlook. Microsoft have announced they are moving to a new improved version of their mail app though, so all these issues will hopefully be a thing of the past soon. 🤞
- Fix for ticket sharing where the shared info wast properly transferred to Ovatic when multiple tickets were sold in one order.
- Fixed the wishlist heart icon on event detail pages
- Fix for Tixly external sales urls
- Fix in Query Builder while assigning Visitor tags to accounts
